Recruitment FAQs
What is Recruitment?
Recruitment is a period in which interestees (any females at Illinois State University who are interested in the sorority) get to know sisters and vice versa through many planned activities. This is a chance to meet new people and expand your horizons. It is an opportunity to see and participate in the daily functioning and benefits of Delta Phi Lambda.
When does recruitment start?
Recruitment takes place at the beginning of the fall semester and spring semester. Please view our full schedule on the main recruitment page. Keep up with our events on our FaceBook and Twitter.
How much does recruitment cost me?
Absolutely nothing. All events are FREE! All expenses are paid for by the sorority. Rides will be provided.
What are the requirements in order to join Delta Phi Lambda?
We, at Delta Phi Lambda, welcome females of all nationalities who share a common goal of promoting Asian Awareness through sisterhood and would love to have the opportunity to meet, talk, and befriend you.
Do I have to be Asian-American or Pacific Islander to join?
As mentioned above, we welcome females from ALL nationalities. Today, our sorority is proud to have sisters that have a wide array of diverse backgrounds, interest, and talents. Each of our sisters brings a unique aspect and point of view to our diverse sisterhood. Therefore, we continue to encourage and invite all women to join, regardless of ethnicity or place of birth.
What happens after Recruitment?
After the recruitment period, bids, (invitations to continue the process to become a part of Delta Phi Lambda) may be given. For those that are seriously intending to join the Delta Phi Lambda family, an attendance of 2/3 of the recruitment events are mandatory for consideration.
